Have you ever heard about dry brushing? It is a massage done with a bristle brush on your dry skin in the morning, just before you jump into the shower. You make circles on your skin, always massaging towards your heart.
I usually start with my arms, then go to my chest and belly. Next I move to my back and after that massage my legs and buttocks. It is a great wake-me-up activity if nothing else. But the benefits of dry brushing are numerous:
- it peels off dead skin
- improves blood circulation
- stimulates lymphatic system to get rid of toxins in the body
- aids reducing cellulite (this terrible foe of women’s thighs)
- helps to maintain healthy looking skin
It takes getting used to dry brushing. If you are sensitive you’d better chose soft or medium brush bristle rather than jumping straight to a hard one.
Your skin may not look better after just one brushing. But the key to success is perseverance.
