My Grandma loved flowers. Her house was always filled with fresh bouquets and her garden was swarming with various blooming plants. My Mum shares the same passion for flowers as her mother. Therefore, I decided to help my parent transfer her garden into a flower haven. As usual I looked for an inspiration on Pinterest. It’s always full of brilliant ideas and easy to make DIYs.
The first project I set my mind on I called Pot Plants Pyramid. You need:
- a bag of quick-setting cement / concrete
- some water
- a plastic bottle
- a metal rod
- 5 different-size plant pots
- a bag of flower soil
- some flowers
Mix water with cement / concrete to get a thick consistency. Pour the mixture into a plastic bottle and insert a metal rod in it. Wait until it is set. Dig a hole in the ground and burry the bottle.
Drill holes in the base of the pots. They should be big enough for the metal rod to go through them.
Take the largest pot and thread it onto the rod. Make sure it stands firmly on the ground as it will serve as the base of the pyramid. Take a smaller pot, thread it onto the rod and tilt to one side. Thread the next pot onto the rod and tilt in the opposite direction. Keep layering the pots until you reach the end of the rod. Fill the pots with the soil and plant flowers of your choice.
Here’s an end result of my hard labour:
It took two hours (99% of the time was spent on discussing where to put the pyramid) and 4 pairs of hands to finish the project. It looks great, don’t you think? My Mum is as pleased as punch! Mission accomplished!!!!
