I like this time of year – the time when you feel spring in the air. The calendar tells you there’s still some time yet, but you know better. The air becomes less chilly, birds start to sing a happy song, and even crow’s cawing doesn’t seem so sinister anymore. There are no buds on branches yet, but you know that soon everything will be covered in fresh greens. Grass will show its fresh blades, leaves will start to appear and flowers will bloom.
This is a happy time. You wake up energized and smile because the sun is high in the sky and the clouds are white, not grey or black. You start to shed another layer of your outfit. You kick off your winter shoes and look for flats and sneakers. You hide away your winter coats, happy to see the back of them. You put your thick sweaters deep in the drawers, knowing that you will not need them for many months to come.
Spring cleaning is not a dirty word for you because you know you have to prepare your wardrobe for another season. It means browsing through the items you’ve got and buying new clothes to wear. I’ve done my spring cleaning weeks ago. I am so anxious for warm days to come. Until they come I will wear outfits like this one:
