THE COLD DOESN’T BOTHER ME ANYWAY

When it comes to temperatures I prefer average. I do not operate above 25°C – my brain melts away and I lie listless on my bed gasping for air. But I am even worse at colder temperatures. The mere thought of leaving the warm and cozy bed to go out into the freezing winter air is killing me.

So when my favourite yoga teacher proposed a new routine on her Facebook account I said to myself Over my dead body! On no condition am I pouring cold water all over myself early in the morning! I am not that crazy.

ice-bucket2But after careful consideration of pros and cons I decided to give it a try. Among other things a cold shower stimulates immune system, prevents colds, accelerates metabolism, increases blood circulation, tightens skin, reduces hair loss, improves sleep, stimulates anti-depression hormones. And it certainly wakes you up in the morning!

I have been taking cold showers for almost a year now and I can see and feel the difference. I feel rejuvenated and energized in the morning. What’s more, the cold weather doesn’t bother me that much – I feel warm inside even on a chilly day and the cool air does not soak in. Additionally, I am less prone to catching colds.

I must admit it takes some courage to pour cold water on my body, especially during winter. I have to take several deep breaths before I start the procedure. But then I think about my health and start the shower.

All in all, Cold Shower Therapy is not for faint-hearted, but it is certainly worth a try. I recommend it for people who want to take a better care of their health.

Yes, I know it sounds terrifying but it’s worth it. I feel great, my skin looks much better, and I can forget about colds and flus.
I like playing with words and that’s how I invented the name for my blog.
